The Founder of of Program
Dr. Charles Warr retired from the Fayette County School System in 2013 after 37 years of service. He began in Fayette County in 1976 as a bus driver and then was hired to teach Auto Mechanics at FCHS. After 10 years at Fayette High, he became assistant principal and vocation supervisor at Mcintosh High where he worked for nine years. In 1996 he was named to his first principalship at Sandy Creek High School. He then returned to FCHS in 2001 where he was principal for twelve years until his retirement. Dr. Warr earned an Associate degree at Clayton Junior college, Bachelors and Masters degrees from Georgia State University, and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Georgia.
Dr. Warr and his wife Audrey have been married 39 years. They have two married daughters, Amanda Baxter and Valerie Gober, who are teachers in the Fayette system, and a son, Brian, who is a veterinarian. Dr. Warr’s wife and children are all proud graduates of Fayette County High School.
