First Sergeant
Anthony Bell has completed 23 years and 3 months of dedicated service to the
United States Army and his country. He
was first assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division where he served as
a Rifleman, M60 Machine Gunner and a Fire Team Leader. In 1992, First Sergeant
Bell was assigned to 3-12 Infantry, 1st Armored Division in
Baumholder Germany. He was assigned as a
Gunner for a Bradley Fighting Vehicle and served as an Infantry Squad
Leader. In 1995, he was reassigned to
the Force XXI Brigade in Fort Hood, Texas, where he participated in the testing
of new military equipment for the Army.
He was assigned to 2-8 Infantry, 4th Infantry Division, where
he served as a Squad Leader, Section Leader and Battalion Equal Opportunity
Representative. In 1997 he was inducted
into the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
In August of 1999, First Sergeant Bell was chosen by the Department of the Army to serve as the Operations Sergeant for G3 Plans, 24th Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. While serving in this capacity he managed the Active Components and Reserve Components out of Fort Stewart, Fort Bragg, and Fort Jackson. He was selected to serve as the Information Management Officer for G3 and the Force Protection NCOIC for Fort Riley, Kansas. Concurrently, First Sergeant Bell attended Barton County Community College where he received an Associates Degree in General Studies.
First Sergeant Bell was selected to organize and instruct the first Battle Staff Course on Fort Riley in June of 02. In May of 2003, he was reassigned to 1-16 Infantry, 1st Infantry Division where he served as a Platoon Sergeant for two years. His deployments include 8 rotations to the National Training Center, 2 rotations to the Joint Readiness Training Center, Desert Shield / Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In May of 2005 First Sergeant Bell became the Senior Military Advisor for Texas A&M Kingsville SROTC program in Kingsville, Texas.
In Oct of 2007 he deployed to the Zabul Province of Afghanistan where he serves as the Embedded Transition Team SGM with the 3rd BN, 2nd BDE, 205th Kandak until December 2008. First Sergeant Bell has currently been assigned to the 1-92 BDE, First Sergeant of A Co. As a Basic Combat Training First Sergeant, First Sergeant Bell was a dynamic leader, totally committed to proving the Army with thousands of disciplined, physically fit, well trained, confident Soldiers. 1SG Bell supervised the training of over 2000 Soldiers and their shipment to AIT sites and unites around the world. His personal dedication, positive leadership, and disciplined approach to training ensured the battalion’s success as he constantly teaches, coaches and mentors the senior non-commissioned officers in all areas of performance, always demanding results. First Sergeant Bell retrained and certified all drill sergeants to transition to a battle focused POI with extraordinary success. In September of 2009, 1SG Bell was awarded the Order Of Saint Maurice for his contribution to The United States Infantry. First Sergeant Retired Anthony Bell is currently working as an Army Instructor at Fayette County High School, while completing his Bachelors degree in Management in December of 2011.
First Sergeant Bell is a graduate of Airborne School, Master fitness Course, Battle Staff, Microsoft Administrations Course, Equal Opportunity Course, and the Primary, Basic and Advanced Noncommissioned Officer’s Courses. MSG Bell’s awards and decorations include: the Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge 2nd Awd, German Parachutist Badge, French Commando Badge, Bronze Star with V Device, Bronze Star, (1OLC) Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 silver OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal 7th Awd, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal (Expeditionary), Global War on Terrorism Medal (Service), NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, (3rd Award) Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Emirate of Kuwait), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Nato Medal, and the Army Meritorious Unit Commendation award.
First Sergeant Anthony Bell is married to Sophia with four children amongst them: daughters Monique and Sasha, and sons Anthony and Larry along with two Miniature Schnauzers, Jasmine Nichole, and Brianna Marie.
